This month's theme is "Stay Cool." August is the hottest month of the year where I live, and staying out of the heat is easier said then done. These products will help you embrace the heat with makeup that won't melt and products that actually cool you down. Fall is right around the corner, and I know I will miss this summer sun once it's gone, so I want to make the most of it while it's here, even when its 100 degrees outside. I hope these items inside will help me enjoy those rays.
Pixi by Petra Brow Tamer
$10.00 - 0.2 fl oz ($7.50 Value)
I have actually been thinking about purchasing an item like this, so I am excited to receive this brow gel in this box. While I do like to tint my eyebrows in, sometimes I just want a product that will help tame and shape without any added color. Plus, in summertime, I like to keep my makeup light, and this brow gel will help me do exactly that, while still looking put together. This brow gel does leave my eyebrows looking crusty, nor does it flake like some others I've tried. This may not be a full size item, but it is definitely deluxe, and a great size to be able to use up the entire bottle before it hardens or expires. This is a great start to this month's box.
Lancome Paris Monsieur Big Mascara
$25.00 - 0.3 oz ($5.00 Value)
This is such a high rated mascara everywhere on the internet, so I can't wait to give it a try. I don't think I've tried a mascara from this brand before, so this will be a new experience for me. With just a few strokes, this mascara made my eyelashes huge. They were full of volume and lenthened. This really is a wonder product. Also, I love these sample sized mascaras. I feel like the large tubes always get clumpy and dry out before I can use all the product inside. These smaller tubes allow me to use every last drop. These two products are already amazing and worth more than I paid. That's great!
Doucce Freematic Blush Mono in Vintage Mauve
$14.00 - 3.4 g (Full Size!)
Last month, every subscriber received a Doucce blush and z-palette with enough space for one or two more. This month, we got to choose our next color to complete the palette from two colors. I didn't choose, because I wanted it to be a surprise, and I am pretty happy with the color I received. This mauve is the perfect rosy pink and compliments your end of summer tan so well. Also, the pigmentation is ideal for a light kissed look, and the product wears beautifully. I am in love with my now completed blush palette.
Sesha Skin Therapy Botanical Hydro Mask
$9.00 - 1 mask (Full Size!)
The sun really dries out my skin, especially if I forgot to reapply sunscreen, so this moisture mask will definitely come in handy. These sheet masks are such treasures to receive in subscription boxes, and while I tend to receive them often, I never want to pay full price at the store, so they are welcomed with open arms. With just a few minutes use, this sheet mask will give your skin that boost of hydration it needs that will last. I like how these are hassle free, and they make the perfect at home spa. I am really happy with this item.
Beautiful Nutrition Lemon Rinse Gentle Clarifying Treatment
$10.00 - 13.3 fl oz ($1.50 Value)
I’ve sampled this product before, and I actually just ran out, so this is yet another item I am excited to receive. This lemon rinse goes on after shampooing, and it goes to work deep cleaning that built in product and impurities in your hair. You just leave it in for a minute, rinse out, and continue with conditioning. I personally like to use a deep conditioner after using this product, because it tends to dry out your hair a tad. I love how this leaves your hair baby soft and so clean, and it is a great product to use once every other week or so to give your hair a deep clean. I really like this item, and the price is great as well. I think I may just purchase it once this sample runs out.
Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash
$24.00 - 6.6 fl oz ($7.28 Value)
I usually love receiving face cleansers in my subscription boxes, but I have so many stocked up that it is a little overwhelming, and I don’t really need anymore. While that is a personal issue, I am pretty impressed with this product. The gel turns into a foam that deeply cleans the skin, while it also includes a scrub that helps exfoliate and break into those pores. I have personally never used a foaming scrub cleanser before, and I really like the combination. This left my face feeling super clean and not too dry, which is always an issue with my skin. While I don’t need this product, and really don’t have room for it in my drawer, I will still happily use this and will most likely reach for it first.
Overall, I am pretty happy with this month’s box. There seems to be a lot of practical items this month that aren’t too exciting, but will definitely get used. I am a fan of that brow tamer and that mascara is a huge hit. The sheet mask, lemon rinse, and cleanser are all nice, but they just didn’t feel special in any way. That being said, they will all be used. The special item in this box is the blush, and it is only really special because it fits in the palette we received last month. This is my second Glossy Box, and it didn’t exactly get better, but I am still happy with it at my discounted $10 price. This month’s box has a value of $44.28. I don’t think I would ever pay the $21 for this, but I am happy with that for the amount I did pay. We will see what next month has in store, but I think I may be cancelling before I am charged the full price.
