Birchbox October 2017 Review - Beauty: Behind the Scenes

Yea! My Birchbox has arrived for the month of October, and since fall boxes are my absolute favorite, I can’t wait to check out everything inside. Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription box that delivers five (sometimes more) sample size products curated to your profile for $10. These products range from hair, nails, makeup, skin care, and perfume. Your box will sometimes arrive with a beauty tool or full size item as well. I love the brands and products that Birchbox delivers, and I really think they get me better than any other subscription box, so I can’t wait to see what new favorites they will deliver this time around.

This month’s theme is “Beauty: Behind the Scenes.” This month is all about these product’s hardworking secret weapons, so the special ingredients within.  I feel like they’ve done this same idea in a few different ways quite a bit recently, but at least I enjoy knowing more about what makes up the best in beauty. This box is pretty cute too. I love how each of their box designs are trendy and pretty, which makes them ideal for storage or decorating. I don’t think I will be putting this one on display, because I like so many of their other designs more, but I will love using this for storage in a closet.

$25.00 each - 11 oz    ($7.73 Value)

Biolage brings back so many memories from high school when every girl was using it. I can still remember the smell to this day. This shampoo and conditioner is all grown up with natural ingredients instead of chemicals. The scent is still there, and better than ever if you ask me, and while I don’t really remember how it helped my hair in the past, this works wonders. My normally limp hair had much more body than normal, and even other people complimented the shine. These may be sample size bottles, but there was enough product in here to last quite a few uses. I am in love with this product, but I don’t know if I am willing to spend $50 on the full size bottles. I will just enjoy this while it lasts.

$60.00 - 2.13 oz    ($7.61 Value)

I love receiving face moisturizers from my subscription boxes, because they are so expensive to purchase the full size product, and these samples offer a big discount. Also, I enjoy trying out different brands and products to see what works best for me. This cream gel with a light sorbet texture immediately quenches the skin by providing hydration to help maintain your skin’s elasticity and softness. It will also help balance and protect your skin from any outdoor toxins. I have been using this face cream at night, and I’ve already noticed a huge difference. My face looks younger and brighter, really everything I would want from a product like this. The sample size is a bit small, but I will still be able to get quite a few uses out of this product, because you don’t need to use all that much. This is one of my favorite samples I’ve received from Birchbox for a while.

$25.00 - 1 fl oz    ($6.44 Value)

Ohhhh! I have been loving these nighttime oils, and since I am a huge fan of the Kiehl’s brand, this is perfect for me. While you would normally think that oil would be bad for your skin, it actually helps hydrate and restore your skin. By applying at night, this oil will help repair itself from daily aggressors when it is most receptive. It will also help promote smoother and healthier looking skin. This oil dries pretty quickly, so you won’t need to worry about ruining your pillow. Also, my skin looks amazing even after one use. I love this product, and I will be placing this next to my bed, stat! Plus, this sample will last forever, because again, you need so little at a time.

$22.00 - 0.016 oz    ($11.00 Value)

I don’t know why, but subscription boxes love sending black eyeliners over and over again. And the worst part, I rarely wear eyeliner, especially black, so I have an excessive amount that I will never be able to use up. Despite my issue, this eyeliner is a tried and true favorite. It is really everything you would want for a liquid eyeliner. The applicator creates the perfect line, and once it dries, it stays put. I often have an issue removing it at the end of the night. This is a great product, but it just isn’t great for me. That being said, I will pass this along to a much appreciating friend. Also, it is half the size of the original, which means the value is worth more than the cost of the entire box. That’s great!

Overall, this box is pretty great. I loved trying out these new products. The shampoo and conditioner is perfect for me, and I love that it is made with natural ingredients. The gel and oil moisturizers are wonderful as well. They are changing the appearance of my face for the better, and I am so happy I was able to sample them both. The eyeliner isn’t for me, but it is still a great product, and it really ups the value of the box. Speaking of value, this box totals $32.78. That is pretty great for Birchbox, and it is another reason I love this subscription so much. I can’t wait to see what next month has in store.

Target Beauty Box October 2017 Review - Hello Cooler Temps

Yea! My Target Beauty Box has arrived for the month of October, and I am so excited to check out all the Fall goodies inside. Target Beauty Box isn’t exactly a subscription, because you have to purchase each box separately when they go on sale, but like subscription boxes they deliver about seven full size and sample size items to your door each month. These boxes cost between $5 to $10 depending on the value, but they have recently all cost $7, just like this current month. The items range from hair, makeup, skincare, nails, and accessories, and all items can be purchased at Target. I love this box, because I often try to purchase cheaper products over those high end items, and this is a great way to try them out before purchasing those full size items.

This month’s theme is “Hello Cooler Temps.” Fall is officially here, and so does our beauty routine and color preferences. While the weather is cool, our makeup warms up during this month, and moisturizer is a must. This month’s box will be full of items that will help us get ready for Fall. While the items are on display when you purchase the box, I try not to look, because I much prefer a surprise. That allows me to hope for certain items; like a moisturizing sheet mask or some brown eye shadow. I wouldn’t mind some great mascara or a new shampoo brand that I haven’t tried. We will see!

Maui Moisture Heal & Hydrate Shea Butter Shampoo

$6.99 - 13 oz    ($1.77 Value)

Ohh! This is just what I wanted. I love receiving travel size bottles of shampoo and conditioner in my subscription boxes, because they are great to hold onto when leaving for the weekend, and these sizes are so overpriced in stores. I have never tried let alone heard of this brand before, but it looks like it is full of natural ingredients. Also, we all need a little bit of added hydration during these months, even our hair, so this product is ideal. This shampoo does a great job at locking in moisture, even without conditioner, and I love the smell as well. It is light and fresh, everything I want. This box is off to a great start.

Masque Bar Wrinkle Reducing Sheet Mask

$3.49 - 1 mask    (Full Size!)

I was hoping for a moisture mask, but I appreciate this wrinkle reducing mask even more. I am pretty young, but I already see wrinkles popping up, so I am always trying out different products to help reduce the appearance. This 20-30 minute sheet mask is infused with collagen, which will firm your skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It also hydrates, which will help stop more wrinkles from appearing. I usually can’t feel masks working, especially sheet masks, but this one was powerful. It wasn’t really painful, just an annoyance. After removing, my face definitely looked more firm and fresh. I really liked this mask, and I may just have to purchase a few more.

e.l.f. Shape & Stay Wax Brow Pencil

$1.99 - 0.04 oz    (Full Size!)

My brows are often out of control, but I don’t always want to add color, and gels sometimes flake, so this may be the product I’ve been waiting for. This wax brow pencil will help you keep your eyebrows in place without any frill. I was worried the wax would feel gross on my face and not dry, but that wasn’t the case at all. In a few minutes, I didn’t even know it was there, but it kept my eyebrows in place. E.l.f. is a cheaper brand, but you can sometimes find some gems, and that was the case for this item. It is a full size item too, so it will take forever to use up. Awesome!

Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner in Spiced Chocolate

$7.49 - 0.01 oz    (Full Size!)

I am so tired of receiving black eyeliner in all of my subscription boxes. It is way too harsh on my light skin, so I rarely wear it at all. This brown eyeliner is a great surprise. Brown compliments my skin so much more and it doesn’t give my eyes the goth effect. Also, I love Neutrogena. This special formula helps nourish the eyes, which is amazing compared to other eyeliners that just irritate them. I am also a fan of the self-sharpener and easy application. This is also the third full size item which makes this box a win already!

L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay Rebalancing Shampoo & Conditioner

$3.97 each - 12.6 oz    ($0.21 Value)

While I really hate receiving foil samples in my subscription boxes, I will let this one slide since this box is filled with many other full size items. I am already a fan of L’Oreal shampoo and conditioner, but I haven’t had a chance to try out their clay system. I love using clay on my face and skin because it helps clarify and deep clean, so I am sure it will do the same to my hair. This shampoo did leave my hair feeling extra clean and super soft. I also really like the scent. It is light and fresh. I was also able to get two uses out of these tiny packets. I really like this product, and I may just have to purchase the full size bottles.

Raw Suger Lemon Sugar Natural Hand Wash

$4.99 - 16.9 oz    ($0.59 Value)

I’ve received Raw Sugar’s exfoliating body wash in a previous subscription box, and I love it so much. The ingredients were all natural, and the scrub left my skin clean and smooth. This hand wash from the same brand is a little less exciting, but I am still happy to give it a try. This left my hands smelling great, but it really isn’t anything too special. I would seek this out in stores depending on the bottle of the full size item. If it is anything like this bottle, and I not interested. I don’t know how many people like to pick up a bottle and squeeze it into your hands when they are dirty. At least this also has natural ingredients, and it smells like LEMON. My fav!

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Color in Rossetto Liquido

$4.99 - 0.21 oz    (Full Size!)

I was hoping for some fall colored makeup, so this is exactly what I was looking for. The reddish, plumb is warm and deep, just like the colors outside. While I am still holding onto that matte effect, I don’t really care for liquid lipstick all that much. It tends to dry out my lips, and since the formula is matte, you see every bit of it. This one is actually pretty hydrating, but I still have to apply chap stick underneath. I don’t think I’ve ever tried a lip item from Rimmel before, and I have to say, it’s pretty nice. I could easily compare this to a more expensive brand. This one is full size, which means I will never run out, but I would be interested in trying out different colors.

Overall, I am really happy with this month’s box. That sheet mask was amazing, and I loved trying out both shampoos. The brow wax was possibly the best new discovery this month and the brown eyeliner is a fun addition in the land of black. I did enjoy both the lipstick and hand wash, but they could make a few tweaks to make it perfect. This month’s box has a value of $20.53. That is pretty great for a box that only costs $7, but I remember a time when the value was double this. I still love these boxes so much, and I can’t wait to see what November has in store.

If you would like to try Target Beauty Box for yourself, check their website around the first of the month. They sell out quickly, so purchase them as soon as they are available.

FabFitFun Fall 2017 Review

Yea! My FabFitFun has arrived for the Fall season, and since Fall is my favorite time of the year, I hope this box is going to be great. FabFitFun is a seasonal subscription box that delivers lifestyle items around the current season for $49.99. This is only my third box ever, and I’ve absolutely loved the previous two, so I know this is going to be filled with items I love. Products inside range from fashion, makeup, skincare, home, fitness, and food. Also, the combined value is always more than $300, so you will always get your monies worth. Let’s check out what is inside this time.

Like I said above, each box doesn’t have a theme, but instead it is filled with items curated around the current season. Since this is the fall box, I am hoping for items that will help me transition from these hot months, to cooler temps. I am also looking forward to fall colors. I love those warm browns and cool greys, so any item that carries those tones will be idea for this time of the year. This box is always packed full, and this one looks to be the same, so I know I am going to be picking out one fun discovery after another.

Mer Sea & Co Scarf in Grey

$98.00

Ohh! This is such a great start to this fall season box. This scarf is a nice medium weight and can be worn as a poncho or even used as a blanket, depending on your need. I got to choose the grey ombre color, because I am a yearly subscriber, and I am in love with how versatile it is. I can wear it with practically anything. The fringe makes it trendy too, so this can easily be worn to work with a belt or while cuddling on the couch with a book or movie. Plus, this isn’t too heavy or too light, so it gives you the perfect amount of warmth. I think this is going to be ideal to bring with you on a flight (especially a redeye), because you can wear it onto the plane, then use is as a blanket while trying to catch some ZZzz’s. Also, this is almost twice the price of the box alone. Awesome!

Private Party Gym Bag "Meet Me At The Barre"

$59.00

This is one of the only subscription boxes that does a really great job at adding useful workout gear every single box. I work out almost every day, so it is a large part of my life, and I love collecting the coolest and best of fitness in subscription boxes. This denim textured cotton is a little on the cheap side, but I don’t want anything too nice to bring with me to the gym and to fill with my stinky clothes. I do love the shape and look, though. It feels like a throwback to the 70’s. The quote on the side is really cute as well. It is a trendy quote that works perfectly with the gym. I don’t really have a gym bag that I always use, but instead I tend to use bags I use for my other travel, so this is something I could really use. I wouldn’t pay $60 for this, but I am glad I received it in this box.

Imm Living Coxet Wire Heart Ceramic Jewelry Holder

$33.00

I am not really into cutsie items, so this heart shaped wire jewelry holder just isn’t my style. That being said, this is a really great idea, and I love how this practical items can also look so cute on display. The wire heart and the ceramic bottom makes it perfect for holding onto all of your jewelry, whether it be rings, necklaces, or earrings. The wire is really sturdy in the holder, too, so you won’t have to worry about it collapsing once you are using it to display your high value items. This isn’t exactly the most exciting product for me, but I can see how many other people will love it, and I still believe it is a great addition to this month’s box.

The Jetset Diaries Cable Knit Beanie in Pink

$49.00

I love warm accessories, and this pink beanie is the perfect transitional hat for fall and throughout winter. This loose beanie is lightweight, so it can be worn during those early cool temps or even as a stylish hat indoors. It can also be worn throughout winter, as long as you won’t need heavy winter wear to keep you warm during freezing temps. I am from a warmer state, so I like that I will also be able to enjoy this, but probably not until January. They delivered this item in both black and pink, and while I was hoping for the black color, I am happy with the one I received. It is light and bright, which will keep me warm and happy during these dark and dreary months. Again, I would never pay the ticket price for this (it is just too cheap), so I am happy I received this in a subscription box.

Dphue Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse

$35.00 - 8.5 oz

At first, I thought this was a simple clarifying hair rinse to use between your shampoo and conditioner, but when trying it out the first time I realized this is a three-in-one product, and it will clean, clarify, and condition just with one single product. I know apple cider vinegar is a cure all and can be used for so many things, but I wasn’t too sure how it could replace these everyday bathtub products. The nozzle helps you get the product straight to your scalp, and it lightly lathers, so you can rub it into your ends. My hair was not only clean, but it was better than clean. It still help volume and shined more than normal. I absolutely love this product, and I will happily use this about once a week to help clarify. Also, I was worried it would smell like a strong apple cider, but it dried basically scentless! That’s awesome!

Deco Miami Lavender Cuticle Oil

$12.50 - 0.2 fl oz

Cooler temps come with rough cuticles, and keeping them hydrated is important during these fall and winter months. Before the situation gets too out of control, this cuticle oil will help hydrate and nourish while keeping the appearance of your nails beautiful. I would think the oil would be messy and rub off and stain everything I touched after using, but instead it dries quickly and isn’t the least bit messy. The lavender scent is very nice as well. It is so relaxing and fits in perfectly with any at home spa. I love the shape of this bottle, and it will look great on my vanity. This is an allover win.

Whish Beauty Renewing Mud Mask

$48.00 - 2 oz

Yeah! I am so excited to pull this product out of this subscription box. I am already a fan of the Whish brand, but I’ve only tried their body wash and shaving cream. This clay face mask will be the first face product I have tried of theirs, and honestly, this is the perfect product to try outside of their shower products. I love face masks, and I use them all the time. I especially enjoy clay masks, because they help clarify your skin while deep cleaning, and they also help clear up any acne and impurities. This mask smells great, which is important for anything that you put close to your nose, and it left my face looking and feeling great. This packaging is really cute too. I love the squirt feature, which is so eay to use, even with product in your hands. Love it!

Mytagalongs Hot & Cold Gel Pack

$15.00

Ohh! I use hot and cold packs all the time to help aching muscles or to relieve headaches, so I will happily add this to my collection. This pack is made with super durable plastic that can easily mold onto your body for direct contact, and it is large enough to cover quite a large amount of space. When cool, it starts hard, but becomes malleable when defrosting. While hot, it lasts, especially when compared to the rice pack I use for heat now. This packaging is so cute too. I love the pop culture quotes that fit perfectly with the hot and cold versions of this pack. This is such a great addition to this month’s box, and I will definitely get quite a bit of use out of it. Such a practical item.

Trestique Matte Color & Shiny Balm Lip Crayon in Florence

$28.00 - 0.1 oz

We are so far into this box, and I am still pulling out great items. This one especially. I am a huge fan of Trestique, and this double sided crayon is the perfect accessory for the fall season. One side of this pencil is a matte cream color in a beautiful fall shade. I think this is so easy to apply, and it dries a cool matte without drying out your lips. It is fall though, and lip balm is a must, which is where the second side comes into play. This moisturizing, shiny color helps boost up your lips with some glam while hydrating your lips. I love that you can wear the two sides separately or together, and this one color can go from day to night without having to remove one color and apply another. To me, this is all I really need to help transform my look into this new season.

Cottonelle FreshCare Flushable Cleansing Cloths

$23.39 - 84 count    ($2.78 Value)

This special extra is an item that I’ve wanted to try out coincidently, so I am happy to receive this sample in this season’s box. These flushable cleansing wipes can be used in addition to or completely replace your normal toilet paper. I love the idea of these, because sometimes you want to feel extra clean. I would normally worry about these clogging the toilet, but these promise they won’t, and they were created to purposely biodegrade in the water. This is a fun extra, and even though I know it is just a sponsored product, I am happy to try it out.

Overall, I am pretty happy with this month’s box. I am used to only receiving five or six products in my subscription boxes, so these ten items was like a gift that never ended. I am in love with the poncho and beanie, and they are great accessories to lightly layer during these cooler months. That apple cider hair wash is such a great three-in-one product, and the face mask may be my favorite of my collection at the moment. The cuticle oil and lip crayon are great fall beauty items to own, and I will get so much use out of them this month. This is one of the only boxes that includes fitness items and that duffle bag and hot/cold pack will come in handy while I get in shape. Even the special extra is a fun addition. The only item I didn’t love was the wire jewelry holder, but that is only because it isn’t really my style. This season’s box has a value of $380.28. That is absolutely crazy for a box that only costs $49.99, and I can’t wait to see what winter has in store!

BarkBox September 2017 Review - Bark University

Yea! My dog’s BarkBox has arrived for the month of September, and even though this is a subscription box solely for my dog, I love checking out the cute toys and fun treats delivered to him, and I also love gifting them to him. BarkBox is a monthly subscription box filled with dog toys and treats curated around a monthly theme for your dog’s particular size. This box starts at $29 a month, but is much more affordable at longer subscription lengths. I am tied into a rate of $21 a month as long as I don’t unsubscribe. I am always impressed with the fun themes, the heavy duty toys, and the healthy treats, which makes it the best dog subscription box on the market.

This month’s theme is Bark University. It is time to go back to school, and while that may or may not include your dog, this box will help them experience the college life without having to go to class. I really like this theme, because college was the best time of my life, and I think it is a lot of fun to relive it a little with my dog. Since it is college, I am expecting some toys shaped like solo cups or after Greek life. I believe last September was all about grade school, and we’ve moved on from that, so higher learning, here we come!

$6.00 - 5 oz

I had a feeling there would be some items with the Greek life, and the packaging for these lamb strips is just too cute. My dog loves all treats, but jerky strips are his absolute favorite. I love giving these to him when he deserves more than just a one chomp treat, or I want to keep him occupied for a few minutes. I love that these are made with natural ingredients, so I won’t feel guilty giving these to him, and they won’t give him an upset stomach. Since he love these so much, we don’t have any on supply at the moment, so these will be going straight into the treat jar.

$12.00

Rad Chad is such a hoot, and I love that BarkBox is poking fun at your typical college frat boy. I honestly think I knew this person back at school. Other than the funny and cute design, this toy is my dog’s favorite type. He loves the firm stuffed toys, especially when they have a squeak inside, because they are perfect for tossing, tugging, shaking, or cuddling. Most of his favorite toys are this shape and size, so I know he is going to be adding Rad Chad to the mix. I will personally be getting a laugh from this toy every time he brings it to me.

$8.00 - 5 oz

Nothing screams college as much as unhealthy, cheesy snacks, and this packaging and treat reminds me exactly of the cheese puffs I used to eat. Since the human version is so unhealthy, I was worried that these would follow suite, but these are packed full of nutrients. My dog isn’t the biggest fan of these crunchy and puffy treats, but he will still eat them up, especially when he knows he is getting one. I love the design of these, and again I got quite a good laugh out of this item. Plus, I love that BarkBox delivers a good assortment. They are just nailing it this month.

$10.00

LOL! Again, BarkBox is just killing it in the cuteness and funniness game this month. This solo cup with squeaky, soft ping pong balls are a great toy to keep your dog’s brain healthy by having to dig these out, and they are really fun throwing them around the room as well. I can picture my fur baby and I having a dog’s version game of beer pong (without the beer and a lot more chasing, or course). I really couldn’t see him playing with this on his own, but I think it is really important to spend good quality time together, and this toy will help do the trick. I am in love with this item, and I can’t wait to get in some playtime myself.

$4.00 - 1.4 oz

BarkBox always includes a larger, one use treat in their boxes, which I absolutely love. These are always too expensive to purchase in the store, especially for something he will only enjoy for a few minutes, so I love receiving them here at a discounted price. These are some more jerky treats (BarkBox is usually a lot better at mixing it up), but these are different than the earlier treats, and since he loves them so much, I really don’t mind. I like to give him these treats when it is my relax time, and he isn’t feeling the same way. It is a great treat to give him when you sit down to a movie or have friends over too. Love!

Overall, this box is wonderful. The only real low point of the box is the crunch, air treats, but my dog will still eat them, so they aren’t really a bust at all. I am in love with both of these toys, and I will get a good chuckle from them every time we play with them together. The treats weren’t the best variety, but he got two packs of jerky treats, and since they are his favorite, it is all good. This month’s box has a value of $40. I paid $21, so that is almost double what I paid. I wouldn’t be able to get all of these items at the store for that price, so I am happy. The holiday boxes are coming up, which makes us both happy! Can’t wait!

If you would like to try BarkBox for yourself, just click here. It is my all-time favorite pet box, and I know you will love it too.

Glossy Box September 2017 Review - A Little Glamour Goes A Long Way

Yea! My Glossy Box has arrived for the month of September, and I am really excited to check out all the products that this fall box delivers. Glossy Box is a monthly beauty subscription box that delivers about six sample and full size products around a theme in a cute box for only $21. The items range from makeup, skincare, nail, hair, and perfume, so you are going to receive items from many different areas, and their brands are a mix of new discoveries and cult classics. These boxes usually value about $75, which is pretty good for the price. I did a three month subscription for $10 each, and while this is my last month, I really don’t think I will be resubscribing. I may just have to change my mind after this month. We will see.

This month’s theme is “A Little Glamour Goes A Long Way.” This month takes the fashion show from the catwalk to our everyday lives with products that will help us look polished everywhere we go. The world is our runway, and the items inside this box will help us look our best. This is a really fun theme, but it is a little off timing. I know there are fashion shows all year round, but Fashion Week is in February, so this would best fit that month. I was hoping for a fall themed month as well. Still, I am sure this box will be filled with great items, and I love feeling put together and looking my best, especially with minimal effort. I am still looking forward to checking out everything inside.

$87.00 - 1.7 fl oz    ($8.70 Value)

This may be a tiny sample, but this miracle cream is still a great item to try out, and this will be enough for a few applications. This anti-aging moisturizer not only protects your skin from the sun, but it also helps improve the appearance of wrinkles and your skin’s texture. Your skin will look smooth and plump for 24 hours. The formula feels luxurious, and it didn’t cause any problems on my skin under makeup. It actually gave my foundation and powder a cleaner finish. I didn’t notice any improvement with wrinkle appearance, but since this sample is small, I am sure you’ll need a few weeks of continuous use before you’ll notice anything. I wish I could afford an entire bottle of this. Instead, I will just enjoy this sample as much as possible.

$78.00 - 0.7 oz    ($10.00 Value)

This is yet another sample from Lancome’s high end line, and unfortunately this one is much smaller. This serum does work wonders though, and I am still really excited to try it out. Unlike most products, this one requires you to activate it yourself so it is fresh and it will give you the best results. This serum sooths and calms distressed skin while protecting it from environmental aggressors like pollution and infrared radiation. Your skin will look and feel healthier. Surprisingly, I was able to use this tiny sample for a couple of uses due to it’s watery formula. It felt luxurious on my skin, and I noticed a brighter and healthier complexion each time I used it. This does smell a little weird, and it really made me not want to apply it night after night. I will not be purchasing this product, but it was fun to try.

$29.00 - 0.67 fl oz    (Full Size!)

This is our first full size product for the month, and one I am really excited to try. Illuminators have been quite the trend these last few months, and I love the idea of brightening your entire face with a base moisturizer or using an illuminator as a highlighter to brighten my cheeks and nose. I normally don’t like working with creams, but this makes it ideal to use any way you’d like. I couldn’t imagine wearing powder highlighter all over my face. Unfortunately, this shade doesn’t work well with my skin tone (I am really pale), and I don’t even think I could wear it as highlighter. Maybe I could use this as a bronzer instead. I am happy this is a full size item, but it is a flop in my book. Darn.

$9.00 - 0.5 fl oz    (Full Size!)

I don’t wear nail polish that often, but I still love receiving in my subscription boxes. Therefore, I never have to purchase it for full price on my own. This isn’t a color that I would probably reach for on my own, but I do like it a lot. It screams fall to me without going too dark, which also makes it ideal for wearing during these transitional months. The formula isn’t too bad either. It goes on smoothly and lasts a few days without chipping. This is a great color for your toes, as I wouldn’t want this dark of a color on my fingers. This is a great item, and I will use it all season long. Plus, it’s another full size item!

$28.00 - 8.5 oz / $30.00 - 8.5 oz    ($11.60 Value)

While I do love shampoo and conditioner travel bottles, it is a little disappointing to receive them in a $21 box. I would instead expect this out of my much cheaper ($5-$10) boxes. That being said, I have never tried out this brand let alone this product before, so I am excited to give it a shot. Also, I love receiving practical travel size items in my subscription boxes. They are always overpriced in stores, so it is more than ideal to receive them at a discounted price. I travel all the time, and it is just too much to always pack my full size bottles. This shampoo and conditioner works great, and it leaves my hair looking and feeling great. I am also a true fan of the scent. It is light but stays with you all day. These are deluxe samples too, so I will be saving these for one of my longer trips.

$7.99 - 4 oz    (Full Size!)

Oh, la la! One more item, and this one is full size once again. This giant tube is filled with a charcoal and probiotics cleansing clay mask. I love face masks, especially clay ones, because they help purify and renew skin all within a couple of minutes. I have never heard of this brand before, and this entire tube only costs $8, so I am not sure how well it is going to work. Also, this is the normal size of a body lotion that still takes about a month to use up, so I have no idea how I am going to work through this entire tube before the product expires, especially since I would only use it about once a week. At least I won’t be running out, and I also won’t be stingy with this product when having my friends over for spa night.

Overall, this month’s box was pretty nice. I did enjoy many of the products, but it just doesn’t seem like anything is too special or that great of a value. I really enjoyed the Lancome moisturizer and serum, but the samples were tiny, and I wasn’t really able to reap the benefits. The nail polish and clay mask are nice and very fitting for me, but they don’t seem to be the best brands. I would probably pass both of these up if I were to see them in stores. I do like the shampoo and conditioner, but they should be sending full size bottles in this subscription box. I just won’t be able to use the illuminator, because it isn’t the ideal tone, but maybe I could pass it as a bronzer. This monht’s box has a value of  $76.29. This is much more than I expected and pretty normal for this box, but I just don’t think it will be enough to continue this subscription.
