My Target Beauty Box has finally arrived for the month of January, and since I really didn’t spend much time looking into the products, I am excited to look into and test out each one. Target Beauty Box isn’t exactly a subscription box, because you have to purchase each one as they go on sale, but they come out once a month, and deliver a wide range of beauty products sold in Target stores. Depending on the value of the box, the cost varies from $5, $7, and $10. This month, they offered a $5 and a $10 box, but I was too slow for the $5, so the $10 it is. I probably would have purchased them both, so it isn’t the worst thing the $5 was sold out.
Like all their boxes, this month has a theme that helps curate the products. This month’s theme is "Beauty #Goals." This month is all about new and best of 2017 based on New Year's Resolutions. Target found all their favorite products that will become beauty favorites this year and collected them all in one box. This gets me really excited about the products inside, and I can't wait to dig in. Each box comes with a card detailing all the products, which is nice when you want a little more detail that the packing doesn't deliver. Let's dig in.
$31.49 - 4 oz ($3.94 Value)
At first, I wasn’t sure I’ve heard of this brand before, but after I checked it out online, the packaging made me realize otherwise. While I have seen this brand around, I’ve never tried it before, mostly due to the ticket price, but now that I have a sample, I am excited to try it out. This brand has been around for over 60 years, which I didn’t know, but gets me more excited about the product. This facial cream promises to smooth, moisturize, protect, and tighten skin. I love moisturizers that double as a wrinkle cream, so I am all in. Overall, I really like this product. It does a really great job moisturizing, and works underneath makeup as well. Also, the cream isn’t too thick or thin, so I can wear it all year long. This is a great product, and I am glad I have this sample to try it out, but I don’t know if I can pay that price tag for face cream.
$4.99 - 0.27 oz (Full Size!)
Lip scrubs are the new dry shampoo, as it they are everywhere, and everyone is using this simple product. I have yet to try one out, and since I normally use a toothbrush to buff my lips of dead skin, it will be fun to try a product that’s sole purpose is to scrub lips. I like that fact that this scrub hydrates while removing dead skin, because I was worried about the uncomfortable feeling it may produce. With one use, I noticed that my lips were much softer, and lipstick appeared to be softer and smoother as well. Also, it did leave my lips fully hydrated. I am really excited about this product, and the full size bottle as well. This will come in handy during these winter months.
$19.99 - 1.7 oz / 0.5 oz ($0.58 Value)
For spending $10 on this box, I am a little distracted by these foil samples. They are normally free from magazines, and they don’t give you a good enough impression of the product. I have used the revitalift products before in the past, though, so I know what they can do, and this will be just an extra application. This cream and serum from L’Oreal promises to revitalize skin by minimizing wrinkles and soothing skin. I like that these work really well together, and you don’t feel like you’re applying a lot of product on your face at one. Also, these make my skin feel amazing. It is like there is soothing power in the moisturizer alone. Otherwise, I didn’t notice a big different with my skin, and didn’t notice any long terms effects. I would be happier using a more expensive product that works.
$9.39 - 10 oz ($1.41 Value)
This is my second sample of this comb through hairspray, and I am happy I have more of this product, because I love it so much. I hate spending so much time curling my hair, and the hairspray not only makes it crispy, but it also dampens and flattens my curls. This hairspray hold your hair in place, even mine that tends to fall out, but doesn’t make it crunch. Also, I love that I can comb through my curls to loosen them slightly and make them appear more natural, which I would never be able to do before. I love this product, and unless I am rocking an up do, this will be the only hairspray I use going forward.
$4.49 - 0.09 oz (Full Size!)
While I do love lip color, I absolutely cannot deal with the way they usually dry out my lips. Lip color goes from looking smooth and soft to cracked and sloppy. That is why I am mostly drawn to tinted lip balms. At first, I wasn’t sure I would be into this shade, because it isn’t a color that I normally wear, but the light tint complimented my skin tone well. Also, this left my lips feeling completely moisturized. I see they have a few other colors, and I am interested in purchasing a few more. Because this is a full size item, it adds to the value of the box, and I will never run out of this great product. This may be my favorite discovery of this box yet.
$12.49 - 7.9 oz ($3.16 Value)
Amlactin is a product that I’ve known of forever, yet never purchased one of their products. This body lotion is proven to not only moisturize, but keep your skin moisturized throughout the day, all while soothing and smoothing. This does moisturize while taking away the itch, but it isn’t any more special than a cheaper option. I do like testing out new lotions, but mostly, I like having these travel size bottles for, what else, traveling. This will be great to throw in my purse as well when I need to give a little love to my arms or elbows. Plus, I am glad I was finally able to test out this product.
$10.00 - 13.3 fl oz ($1.50 Value)
I’ve never heard of this brand or product before, but as soon as I pulled it out of this month’s box, I was intrigued. From the review I saw, people really enjoy this product, and I can see why. After only one use, my hair felt and looked clean and refreshed. Years of buildup has magically disappeared, and my hair stayed cleaner longer. It didn’t feel great applying, as I could feel the natural lemon crunching it up, but that rinsed out perfectly. This deluxe sample is good for a few uses as well, so I am able to pull this magic trick for the next few months. It is affordable too, so I will definitely be picking up a full size bottle.
$10.79 - 1.8 oz ($1.50 Value)
I love the Burt’s Bees brand, and their product have surprised me of late. That means, I am really excited to try out their new face lotion. This product promises to relieve dry skin while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Most of my wrinkle creams are for night, so it is nice to have a day time option that isn’t too thick for under makeup. Also, this lotion is packed with probiotics and natural ingredients, so I am not weary to apply this on my face. I am impressed with the long lasting moisture, and I’ve noticed an improvement in my appearance. I really like this face lotion, and I will definitely concider purchasing in the future. Also, this sample isn’t large, but since I only use a small amount. It will last a while.
Overall, I am really happy with this month’s box. At first, it didn’t look like much, but once I looked into each of these products individually, I am really impressed. The two face creams, tinted lip balm, lip scrub, and clarifying wash are all new discoveries that I’ve already enjoyed, and the rest are still products I will use. To be honest, this is one of my favorite Target Beauty Boxes of all. This month’s box has a value of $21.57. That is nice for a $10 box, but I wish it cost a little less (like $7). Target Beauty Boxes are the best, and I can’t wait until next month’s is available.
If you would like to try Target Beauty Box for yourself, keep an eye out for the first Monday of the month, as that is when they go on sale. They sell out quickly too, so check in the morning.
