Target Beauty Box April 2017 Review - Hello Pure & Simple

Yeah! My box second Target Beauty box has arrived for the month of April, and I am excited about checking out the next batch of goodies. Target Beauty box isn't exactly a subscription, because you have to purchase each month separately when they go on sale, but they still offer samples and some full size products from beauty brands sold at Target at a low price. This box ranges from $5 to $10 depending on the value, but this one cost $7. I know that they always double or triple in value, so I am looking forward to the products inside.

This box's theme is Pure & Simple. All the items in this box are made with natural and/or organic ingredients. I think more than ever, we are watching what we put on our bodies as much as we watch what we put in our bodies. Having more beauty product items with natural ingredients readily available is amazing, especially at Target, so I love testing out the different brands and products that will help lead me to a purer life. Especially those sold at great prices. I hope to find a few items I can replace with those I use day in and day out.

Juice Organics Volumizing Shampoo & Conditioner

$9.99 each - 10 oz    ($2.40 Value)

This is actually the second time I've been able to try out Juice shampoo and conditioner, and I am really excited to try out one of their different formulas. Juice Organics is, or course, organic, and they also pay close attention to each ingredient they put in their product. I have to say, I am really impressed with how well this works as well. The shampoo did a great job removing dirt and oil, and the conditioner left my hair so super soft. I also really enjoy the scent, which is all natural. These samples are huge, and while I usually save these for travel, I just can't wait. These are going right into my shower.

Burt's Bees White Tea Extract Facial Cleansing Towelettes

$2.37 10 count    (Full Size!)

Burt's Bees is one of my all time favorite brands. Everything is so high quality, and it also works so well. I love receiving facial towelettes in my subscription boxes, because I use them so readily and I love trying out new other brands without committing to a full package. These wipes work so well (I'm not surprised), and they don't leave any weird residue either. They did a great job removing heavy makeup such as foundation and mascara, and I could trust these for a clean face after a late night out when I don't want to do my entire routine. I will definitely purchase these again, and I am glad I had the opportunity to try these in this box.

Hello Extra Whitening Pure Mint Fluoride Toothpaste

$4.49 - 4.2 oz    ($0.91 Value)

This is another product that I've been able to try from another subscription box, but unlike the Juice shampoo and conditioner, I am not a huge fan of this toothpaste. I was using only this for about a month, and I noticed a less clean mouth and super sensitive teeth. As soon as a switched back to my regular toothpaste, everything went back to normal. This is a sample size, so this would work for travel, but I wouldn't use it more than a few days at a time. For this one, I am just going to stick with the good old fluoride crest.

Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask

$2.52 - 0.33 oz    (Full Size!)

This is yet another brand that I love, and while I have tried many of their products, including the acne prone tomatoes line, I haven't had a chance to try their mud mask. I do have issues with acne, and I've had great results with charcoal products, so I am sure this mask will greatly benefit my skin. While this is packaged for single use, I was able to get two out of the pack. This mask did a great job at detoxifying and definitely stopped new acne from forming. I will have to purchase a few of these the next time I'm at Target as well.

ACURE Pore Clarifying Red Clay Scrub

$12.99 - 4 oz    ($3.25 Value)

Target has already included this brand in their past beauty boxes, so I am familiar with this brand, but not with their pore clarifying line. This product is purple, just like the packing, and definitely not like anything I've ever tried before. This cleanser starts as a scrub and with a touch of water, this turns into a foaming lather. I love the red clay on my face, as it helps clarify and clean, but the tint tends to stain my towels. Otherwise, this is a great product, and it works so well. I will stick to the lighter colored cleansers instead.

Raw Sugar Lemon Sugar Body Wash

$6.99 - 25 oz    ($0.56 Value)

By the name of this body wash, I expected it to be a scrub, but instead it's a gel with a light lather. Also, I have never heard of this brand or product before, so this is a completely new discovery for me. While the bottle is a little hard to squeeze, I love everything else about this body wash. It works great, it smells amazing, and the best part, it is all natural. A little goes a long way with this product as well. I am glad I discovered this item, and as soon as I use this up, I will be running straight to the store for more.

SheaMoisture Kukui Nut Facial Cream Cleanser + Face & Neck Cream

$9.99 - 4 oz + $14.99 - 2 oz    ($1.69 Value)

Foil packets aren't usually a good sign in subscription boxes, but this is actually quite a bit of product for anti aging cleanser and cream. While I do have quite a few night creams, I never thought to use a cleanser that will help fight aging skin. I am actually dealing with aging skin more and more as I get older (haha), so this is a great product to try. While this isn't enough to truly get a good idea on how well it works, I am a fan of this two step program, and I would love to try more.

Overall, I am pretty happy with this box. While not everything was a hit, it included some gems, and I will be able to use it all. The shampoo and conditioner are great, and these samples are huge. The wipes and face mask are so great as well. It was nice to try out new brands like the Raw Sugar body wash and the Shea Moisture cleanser and cream. I did like the clarifying facial scrub, and it will get used, but I wouldn't repurchase. Also, that toothpaste isn't great, but I will use for travel. Why not. This box has a value of $13.40, which isn't even double the cost, so it should've only been a $5 box, but since I will get a lot of use out of these products, that doesn't matter too much to me.

If you would like to try Target Beauty Box, keep an eye out for them the first Monday of the month. Depending on the contents, they tend to sell out fast, so buy them when you can.
