Zoe Box of Style Spring 2017 Review

I have decided to cave and finally subscribe to the Zoe Box of Style subscription box, and my first one has finally arrived. Zoe Box of Style delivers the best of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle for the season at $100 each. They come out four times a year and always deliver great brands and full size products. While I don’t know much about the box, I’ve looked at past reviews, and it really seems to provide a ton of style at a great value. Also, if you subscribe for a year, you can save even more (which is what I did). We are starting the year with Spring, and I can’t wait to see what this box has to offer.

Every Zoe Box of Style comes with an mini book that details each item with the item price and a few styling or how to use notes. This is a great way to get the most out of your box, but to also see the high value of the products. I personally like to keep these as a reminder, or to pull out when using the product or wearing the item. Zoe Box of Style doesn’t have a theme, but the items will stay close to the season, so you know you will always be keeping with the trends. Spring is here, and I am ready to lighten up with colors, clothes, and makeup, so I hope these items will help me achieve a refreshed look.

$238.00

I just received a clutch from Tribe in my Popsugar Must Have subscription box, and I was overjoyed. The item was well made and super cute, and it is the perfect weekend day accessory. This carryall keeps those vibes alive. With the same hand-woven fabric and leather straps, this bag is durable, cool, and very handy. It is large enough to carry everything you would need for a day away, whether it be for work, a day trip, or even your kid’s needs. I normally carry a smaller bag, but I often find myself with hands full when leaving the house, so this may have fixed all those problems. I love this bag, and it screams spring. Plus, this item alone costs more than I spent on the box, which really makes me smile. This is my first impression of this subscription box, and if it continues like this, I am on board.

$62.00

This wouldn’t be a fashion box without a jewelry accessory, and these earrings are super trendy. These simple danglers with balls and circles are both simple, yet statement pieces, so they would work easily from work to drinks. Also, these geometric shapes are so on trend, and I am glad I get to add these to the front of my accessory pile. The best part of this box, these earrings were offered in gold or silver, so you get to choose your metal, which is really important to most. If you want, the circle is detachable, so you can mix things up and either add or take-away as the day goes on. I will be wearing these everywhere, since they are so versatile.

$50.00

I am in LOVE with this scarf. I love the print, the color, basically everything. I have always been a scarf wearer, and since it is always on the warmer side where I currently live, this light bandana style will allow me to keep it going all Spring. As a special collaboration with this box, this scarf was specially made, which also means it will help you stand out. For those of you who aren’t interested in wearing this around your neck, this can be tied to your purse or used in your hair. I personally will be giving myself some French flair to jazz up a plain t-shirt or simple dress. This scarf is one of my favorite items I have ever received in a subscription box, and while I wouldn’t pay $50 for this item, I would happily pay a sixth of the cost of the box (aka $20). I am so happy!

$65.00 – 2.1 oz

Facial cleansers are one of my all-time favorite items to receive in subscription boxes (next to sheet masks, facial creams, and mascara), because they are so necessary, I hate to splurge on the good ones, and they can really change your complexion for the good. This enzyme powder cleanser starts out like something you’d see in the kitchen, but add water, and it turns into a creamy foam. By massaging it gently into your face for only a few seconds, this product will reveal a renewed face. There are a lot of fans of this product, because it gentle, won’t dry out your skin, exfoliates, and leaves your skin super clean. I have never tried an item like this before, and I have to say, I am pretty obsessed. It is fun to use, and I love how it leaves my face felling super clean, soft, and renewed. What better way to start spring. Also, this looks so cute on my counter.

$35.00

I have been wanting this water bottle for years, and I am so glad to have finally received one in this subscription box. The glass makes it heavy duty and durable, while the silicone cover makes it handy and really cute. Personally, I wouldn’t have picked out pink for myself, but the color is perfectly spring. The pastel reminds me of warmer weather and lightness ahead. I only drink from water bottles, so this item is so practical, and I will feel great showing this off anywhere. It is a little heavy, so I would suggest this for a hike, but this would be the best item to take with you on a car trip, to stay on your work desk as a reminder to stay hydrated, or to use at home to bring from room to room. I love this water bottle, and I will be using it right away. Yea!

$18.00 – 0.4 fl oz

Butter London is my all-time favorite nail polish brand, so not only am I excited to add to my collection, but I am glad it is a formula I already love. Butter is all around perfect. The colors are so trendy, you can get complete coverage with two coats, and the brush design makes it so easy to apply. This color reminds me of the cult favorite essie “ballet slippers,” so I know everyone is going to enjoy it. The soft pink, again, screams spring, and the pastel color works with basically everything. I like to believe that light pink is the nude of spring. I love this color and I can’t wait to put it on my nails and toes.

$13.00

Coincidentally, my favorite beer ever is Stella, so much that I already have a pair of chalices at home. These glasses, on the other hand, are part of their water campaign to help women in third world countries collect water for their families. With one chalice, Stella will provide water to a woman for five years. I love this campaign, and this glass is a great reminder to give back. Unlike the glasses I already own, this is complete with a design that is easiest to see when it is full of beer. This is listed as a sponsored extra, but I would be happy if it were considered part of the value. This glass is the cherry on top of this fantastic box, and I will be drinking out of it tonight.

Overall, my first Zoe Box of Style has been a grand slam. That carryall is my new weekend bag, and those earrings will pair well with both work and cocktails. I am obsessed with the scarf and water bottle, and I can’t wait to wear / use them. The rice cleanser works great, too. The nail polish is wonderful, and I even enjoy the sponsored extra. This box is just one great thing after another, and I am surprised at how much I love it all. Seriously, this may be my new favorite box. This season’s box has a value of $481. I personally spent a little less than $90 on this box, so that is pretty incredible and is worth over 5 times over what I paid. I am obsessed and I can’t wait to see what is in store for me this summer.

BarkBox March 2017 Review - Bento & Blossoms

Once again, my dog's BarkBox has arrived for the month of March, and while I am excited to see this month's theme and cute toys, my dog is even more excited to receive his month of goodies. BarkBox is a monthly subscription box that delivers two toys and three treats to your dog each month for only $29 a month. I am always impressed with the quality and ingredients of these products, so not only will your dog love them, but you will feel good about giving them. With a yearly subscription I only pay $20 a month, which makes this box much more affordable and also gives it a higher value. We both can't wait to see what is in store for use this month.

This year, the monthly themes are traveling the world. For January, we took off with our passport for a year long adventure, and February gave us our first stop to a Safari in Africa. Our second stop for the month of March is Japan! We will take in this country's culture with a box full of their treats and toy inspired items. I would normally miss the holiday themed boxes, but these have been done over and over again, so this year of travel is exciting, and I can't wait to see where we are headed next. I can't wait to see what Japan has to offer, and neither can the pup!

$10.00 - 4 oz

One thing we love about Japan, rabbits are everywhere, and while I hate to see those cute animals turn into treats, these rabbit sliders will make your dog smile. Made with real apple and flaxseed, not only are they delicious, but they are good for your dog as well. BarkBox does a great job at delivering treats that are not only healthy, but your dog will devour. I like that these chewy treats last a little longer than your average treat, and they are ideal for handing over after a long series of tricks.

$10.00

My dog has yet to try sushi, even though it is his parent's favorite treat, so this toy allows the entire family to get a serving. This sushi "roll" is the ideal tug toy as the three pieces connect with a stretchy cord, yet still offer the chewiness of a plush and the joy of a squeak. My dog loves this new toy, and has been carrying it around with him everywhere. I tend to not like tugging with some of his plush toys, since I am afraid they will bust, but this allows us to toss, tug, and (for him to) chew all in one. I am glad we are a finally a sushi loving family.

$8.00 - 3.25 oz

These duck jerky treats have got to be delicious, because my dog devours them each and every time. Made with all natural ingredients, including duck meat, these are not only healthy, but they will keep your dog full of energy (I know that isn't always the goal. Haha). These are a great addition to the other treats in the box, while they are quite different, but still a great way to treat your dog for that party trick or using the restroom. Plus, this packaging is really pretty and takes me straight to Japan.

$8.00

One sound my dog can not get enough of, and I have already heard my fair share, is the loud and long duck honk. To his luck, and my misfortune, this teapot is one giant squeak. Since my dog is a terrier, he has to destroy, so I don't see this lasting very long, but it is pretty cute for now. I love the two threaded designs on each side, and the rope handle takes if from real life to dog inspired. This is a great Japan inspired toy, which BarkBox does so well, and my dog will really enjoy play time with this teapot.

$3.00

As soon as I remove these type of chews from the box, my dog will not leave me alone. While he does love dinner time and his treats, jerky and crunchy chews are his absolute favorite. This buffalo chew was no different, and he ate it right away. It was definitely crunchier than your normal jerky, yet it still took him about five minutes to eat. I think these are the best to get your dog to calm down after getting too hyped or maybe while the rest of the family is eating. I really appreciate receiving these in each month's box.

Overall, this is a great box. I love the second stop of this year long adventure is Japan, and they did a great job curating items that represent the area. That sushi roll is the cutest, and it is my dogs favorite new toy. The teapot, on the other hand, is a little annoying, but that part of being a dog owner I guess. The treats have a nice variety, and my dog will be enjoying them all very much. This month's box has a value of $39. I only paid $20 for these products, and I would have paid more than that for these five items, so I am happy with the value. I can't wait to see where we are going to stop next month. I'm thinking a European country.

If you would like to try BarkBox for yourself, just click here. It is a great way to treat your dog with high quality toys and treats month after month.

Wizarding World Crate March 2017 Review - Hogwarts House Pride (Hufflepuff)

As soon as I was aware of the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter Loot Crate edition, I knew I had to join in on the fun. Even though Loot Crate has so many variations, I have yet to try one out, and since I am a huge Harry Potter fan, this box is perfect for me. This variation of the Loot Crate box costs $34.99 plus shipping and tax. In the end, this box ended up costing me over $40, which sounds like a lot more than I bargained for, but hopefully it will be all worth it. I’ve seen plenty of Harry Potter fan gear and product in the last two boxes, such as necklaces, keychains, shirts, socks, funko pops, and stuffed toys, so I really have no idea what is going to be included in this month’s box. I really can’t wait to see what is in store for me this month.

This month’s theme is Hogwarts House Pride. When you sign up for this box, along with sizes for clothes you get to pick your Hogwarts house. I haven’t seen the chosen houses come into play in the last few boxes, so I am guessing that will change this time around. I, of course, am a Hufflepuff: loyal, patient, dedicated, and hard working. (I don’t understand the hate against Hufflepuffs, because we are awesome!) You tend not to see Hufflepuff fan items around as much as other houses, so I am excited about an entire box dedicated to this house. Personally, I am hoping for a Hufflepuff shirt, a Cedric Funko Pop, or possibly the classic yellow and black scarf. Let’s find out.

Hogwarts Raglan

This shirt is an item I am guessing everyone will receive, as it displays all four Hogwart houses. I really like the graphic, but the style of shirt isn’t for me. First, it is a little large for the three quarter sleeve look, and falls off my arms. I am now aware these are boy sizes, and this cut doesn’t look right for a girl. On the other hand, this would look great as a looser fit on a boy. I feel like the American Hogwarts student's would be rocking this look. This isn't a win for me, but it is a cute addition to this box's theme.

Hufflepuff Duffle Bag

I was in love with this duffle bag at first sight. First, it is my school, Hufflepuff!! Also, duffle bags are so handy. I am always packing for weekend trips, clothes for the gym, or a new outfit for going out straight after work. After checking it out a little more, I am really unimpressed with the fabric and material. I could see this duffle bag falling apart within a few uses. Otherwise, this would be a great bag for the teenager in your life. For me, it is just a little too cheap. That is unfortunate.

Hufflepuff Beanie

Ok, now this is what I'm talking about. First, this beanie is made with durable fabric which is thicker to actually keep you warm. Next, the Hufflepuff badge and wording across the middle gives it the perfect amount of house pride. I absolutely love this hat, but I have one complaint. This box arrived in the middle of March, and since spring is here, winter is far from my thoughts. I won't be able to wear this for almost a year. The item is great, but the timing is all off. I guess it will be a fun surprise nine months from now.

Hogwarts Express Lanyard

One thing I haven't seen in any of the previous boxes, yet should have completely expected is a lanyard. This one is decorated with images and wording of the Hogwarts express. This is a "House Pride" box, so I would have preferred a Hufflepuff lanyard, maybe with black and yellow stripes. Otherwise, this is a cute lanyard, and I love that movement is involved with something that you wear while on the go. The ribbon is super soft and feels luxe, but the snap and ID holder is REALLY cheap. I don't think I would trust anything in the holder, especially items I can't lose. The keychain is a fun touch.

Sorting Hat Pin

As I have now become aware, every Loot Crate comes with a pin that represents the box and it's monthly theme. I love the idea of receiving a pin, because it is the ultimate nerd keepsake. On top of that, the sorting hat is the best representation of this box. The sorting hat is what helps choose your house once you arrive at Hogwarts, and since we all have different houses, this is the common medium. I think I will throw this onto my backpack or denim jacket. Honestly, this little gem may be my favorite item in the whole box.

I was really excited about this box, and I thought I would be receiving some quality Hufflepuff items, but this just isn't what I expected. I do appreciate the two house specific items, but to me, that wasn't enough for a house pride box. Also, the items are great at first glance, but they are mostly made with cheap material. Out of the five items, the hat and the pin are the only two that I will actually use due to "cheapness" of the products, and the ill fit. I had really high hopes for this, and for spending $40 on this box I am not impressed with the quality. I may give this box one more shot, but this just may not be for me.

If you would like to try Wizarding World Crate for yourself, just click here. It may be the ideal box for me, but the subscription of your dreams.

Popsugar Must Have Resort 2017 Review

Yeah! My very first Popsugar Must Have Resort box has arrived for the 2017 year has finally arrived, and I cannot to dig in. Along with their monthly subscription, Popsugar releases four specialty boxes each season. These cost $100, but are filled with higher valued items, and in return are worth more than the monthly box. Since it’s spring, and everyone is heading to the beach to break those winter blues, these products will help you make the most of your week away. If you aren’t planning a spring break, these products would be great to get you ready for summer, or would be an ideal gift for the bride heading away for her honeymoon. I live in an area that is beach ready in March, so these items will be ideal for my staycation.

The shipping and packaging for this box is nicer than the monthly subscription, which already gives it a more lux feel. Just like the regular subscription, this box comes with a card that details each item with a picture, a description, and the price if you were to purchase it outside of this box. These are really handy, because even though most of these items are self-explanatory, it is nice to read a little more into it. Also, these are nice to hold onto and keep as a reminder when you’re using the item, or as a keepsake of the goodies you’ve received. I can’t wait to see what is inside.

$95.00

When I think of a resort, I do think hand crafted goods with beads and charms, so this necklace is a perfect fit. Also, it is pretty darn cute. I love how it is super long, so you can wear it over a tight dress, or wrap it around a few times for a different look. They suggest you can wear it as a bracelet as well, but that would make it a little bulky. This is also made with antique gold charms, which helps justify the price. I really like this necklace, and even though I would only wear it in a resort setting, it could really go with anything: a bathing suit, a tank and shorts, or a beachy dress. This has already gotten me in a resort mood.

$29.00

This is an item that I didn’t know I needed until it arrived in this box. This terry clothed lined inflatable already feels like something you would bring to the pool and beach, but with so much fashion and practicality included. The inflatable inside is easy to blow up on your own, and I like how you can make it stiff for upright people watching or a little soft for book reading or sleeping. The material is all durable, and actually feels just like a soft towel, so it will fit right in with your other beach items. Also, the light blue is so relaxing (and won’t get hot), and the word “Escape” gives it a little lux. I am obsessed with this pillow, and I will definitely be bringing it with me to the beach every single time.

$95.00

This spoiler is exactly what I would expect from this Popsugar Must Have Resort box, and really everything I wanted. While I have plenty of summer clothes, and a drawer of cute bathing suits, I don’t really have beach lounge wear or cover-ups. This light fabric is the perfect breezy wear to hang out with in the sun when you don’t want to bear it all. This would be ideal for throwing on to enter the bar straight from the pool as well. The colors are super trendy and I am a big fan of the soft blue, red, and white. It wouldn’t look the best with every bathing suit, but why match when you’re lounging and having a great time? This is going straight into my beach bag as well. Love it!

$50.00 – 1.6 oz

I haven’t heard much about this cleanser before receiving it in this box, but I am now aware it is a favorite among most. This all natural face wash exfoliates, tones, soothes, and deeply cleanses to remove impurities and makeup. With ingredients like chamomile and cocoa butter, this cleanser will leave your face looking a feeling great. I am really happy they included a muslin cloth, because I may have a few, but a brand new one is always nice to use with a new cleanser, and you can never have too many. Also, the scent is really nice and natural, and reminds me that I’m not putting harmful ingreditens on my face. I’ve read a lot of reviews of this cleanser changing people’s complexion, and I hope it works the same for me.

$29.95

I am always at the beach, pool, or even in the hotel wishing I had a speaker to play some jams to help relax or get the party started. This wireless Bluetooth speaker has some great sound quality, and I love that anyone can sync up to it to play their own playlist. Also, the diamond shape is super chic, and again gives it a lux feel. Unlike some speakers, I will not be embarrassed to pull this out, but instead I will be excited to show it off. I know this brand to be high quality as well, so I don’t expect this to fall flat in the middle of the party. Who would think speakers were so necessary during your resort vacation, but this speaker is definitely a must have. I like that it isn’t vacation specific as well, and I can bring this to tailgates, to BBQ, or just play music around the house.

$8.00 – 3 oz

Well, darn. This box was one great item after another until the food product, which is usually something chocolate. I, unfortunately, I know, do not care too much for chocolate, especially dark, so this gourmet bar just isn’t for me. For everyone else, though, this must be a hit. The mint gives it a lux taste, and takes you away on your own tropical vacation if you aren’t able to go on one of your own. Also, since it is dark chocolate, it is good for your, right? I will pass this onto a friend or coworker, which is unfortunate, but at least someone will enjoy it.

Overall, I am really happy with this year’s box. That cleanser and beach cushion are my absolute favorites, and they will be getting quite a bit of use. The Bluetooth speaker is something that will be going with me everywhere as well. The necklace and shrug are also nice, but I don’t think I will be wearing these very often, but when the time comes, these will pull my resort wear outfit together perfectly. The only item I wasn’t a fan of is the chocolate bar, and really the only item that I don’t mind not caring for. This year’s box has a value of $306. That is pretty great for a $100 box, but I would like to see it worth a little more. Nonetheless, I really enjoy the items inside, and I would be happy to spend $100 total. I hope the summer box has even more to offer.

This year’s box has been sold out, but if you are interested, make sure to pay attention early March of next year to tie your own down.

Sephora Play! March 2017 Review - The Gleam Team

Yeah! My Sephora Play! subscription box has arrived for the month of March, and I can’t wait to see all the goodies inside. Sephora Play! is a monthly subscription box for $10 that delivers six beauty samples (one being a fragrance) of products sold in Sephora stores. They are deluxe sizes compared to what you get for free with your Sephora purchases, so you really get a good sense of the product, and a lot of the time, it will last you quite a while. Sephora Play! has slowly become one of my favorite boxes, because I am always impressed with the products, the value, and the brands, so I can’t wait to see what they have in store for use this month.

This month’s theme is “The Gleam Team,” and it is all about products that will help you shine. Whether it be skin care products that give you a healthy look, or golden hued makeup, these products will get you out of the winter slump and get you ready for spring. I am hoping for a new eyeshadow that is both classic and bronze or some night cream or face mask that will help dull skin and brighten it for this lighter month we have ahead. This month’s drawstring bag isn’t as fun as the last few we’ve had, but I like the classic white with the neon print. This is perfect for storing sample or travel.

$49.00 – 1.7 oz    ($6.86 Value)

While skin care experts aren’t a huge fan of GLAMGLOW, I feel like these products work really well for me. Also, since they are so expensive, these samples are really the only true way I get to try them out. This moisturizing illuminator replaces your day cream with ingredients like jojoba oil and shea butter, but takes it one step further. With added illuminating pearl particles, this moisturizer helps you glow and makes your skin more radiant. It also has blurring effects, which makes all light good lights. Hello new selfie. I was a little overwhelmed when I first rubbed this in, but it toned down nicely, and it did make my skin glow perfectly under powder. I love this product, and I’m lucky it is large enough to last me a while.

$15.00 – 3 oz    (Full Size!)

While dry shampoo’s main purpose is to keep that grease from shining, I still appreciate this travel size bottle of Living Proof. I use dry shampoo every other day (between washes, of course), and I am always still a little leery about wearing my hair down, since it is just too flat. This volumizing product will give your hair great texture while lifting roots, so basically you have fresh hair day two. It also doesn’t give your hair that sticky feeling. I don’t think this works at degreasing my hair as well as other dry shampoos I’ve tried in the past, but the volume is great. I may have to combine this with my Batiste for ultimate day two hair.

$30.00 – 0.05 oz    ($10.00 Value)

I was hoping for a glowy, cream shadow, and so I was really pumped to pull this out of my box. This cream shadow is long lasting (for up to eight hours) and won’t crease, flake, or fade. I always worry about creasing with my cream shadows, so that is a relief. Also, I feel like shadow sticks are difficult to apply, but this powdery finish made it easy to blend before it dried and stayed. I love this rosy gold color, and will be wearing this all spring long. I also love that you can use it as a highlighter. Long lasting and multi-use, what else can you ask for? I guess I should mention the size as well. This tube is quite large, and I won’t see myself ever needing to repurchase (until it expires, that is).

$30.00 – 0.33 oz    ($7.50 Value)

Why use your eyeshadow as a highlighter when Sephora will include one of those in your box as well, and it’s from one of my all time favorite brands, Benefit! This is another cream to powder stick that makes it easy to apply and easy to blend, which is what else, easy. This champagne colored glow leaves a delicate and soft shimmer, and does a great job highlighting all those favored areas. This color is a little too dark for me, and the bronzier color doesn’t work the best with my pink skin, but I think this will work a lot better once I get some sun. I do love the product itself, though, and this sample is HUGE!

$36.00 – 0.5 oz    ($7.20 Value)

I am obsessed with hydrating makeup primers, as they take a step out of my routine, and they result in less layers, which is ideal once the warmer weather hits. This formula has a creamy and whipped texture, which I wasn’t expecting, but I really enjoy. This leads to a smooth, long-lasting, and radiant glow. Since it does have light reflecting properties, it awakens the complexion and softly sculpts the face, even with makeup on top. I was impressed at how well this hid pores and light lines to give me face a much prettier overall look, and since I have just turned a year older, I am dying to look even younger. I love this product, and I may just have to repurchase.

$105.00 – 1.7 oz    ($2.47 Value)

While I know all about Chloe perfume, I’ve actually never purchased it or really sampled it in the past. This perfume is fresh and feminine with notes of peony, rose, honey, and cedarwood. I am not usually a huge fan of floral scents, but the flowers mixed with the honey and cedarwood bring this back down to a woodsy and warm fragrance. Honestly, this is the ideal scent for March, as it beautifully mixes together spring and winter by lighting it up, but still keeping it in season. I could see myself wearing this while shopping with my girls for spring break clothes or while getting out into fresh air and enjoying that warm sun.

Overall, this month’s box was a total hit. I love how everything except the dry shampoo literally makes you glow, and they are all great product for this time (or really anytime) of year. I am loving the two moisturizers, and that eyeshadow stick is great as well. I will also use the highlighter and dry shampoo, but they aren’t my favorite new finds from the box. I like the perfume, but since it is a sample, I will wear it now and then and never repurchase. This month’s box has a value of $49.03. That is pretty great for a $10 box, and another reason I love it so much. I can’t wait to see what April has in store for me.

BoxyCharm March 2017 Review - Creepy Cute

Yea! My Boxycharm has arrived for the month of March, and I cannot wait to see what they have in store for me this month. BoxyCharm is a monthly beauty subscription box that delivers at least four (usually five) full size products to your door for only $21. The box is stocked full with the best makeup, skincare, haircare, and nail polish from a wide range of brands. The box always has a value over $100, which amazes me every time, so you really get your monies worth. I have found some great products from these boxes over the years, and my makeup collection has really been able to grow without spending too much cash. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for me this month.

Every month, BoxyCharm curates their products around a theme. I usually rave about the creativeness and how well the products go with it, but I just don’t know what happened this month. For March, the theme is “Scary Cute” with a brightly colored spider web. I could see this theme working with October, even though I would still cringe, but I have no idea what is happening here. Since March is the first sign of spring, I am still hoping for some light weight product in pastel colors. I also wouldn’t mind a hair lightening product or a springy nail polish. Fingers crossed!

$39.99 - 7.5 g

BoxyCharm loves including eyeshadow palettes, and really so do I! This trio reminds me of a tropical vacation with a bright orange, yellow, and a rosy pink. At first glance, this is a trio that I just won’t use. The colors are too outrageous, and really this expensive trio seems to be really cheap, but my opinion changed. The compact itself is really quite nice, and it was just the pans that had shifted out. Also, these colors are quite pretty on, and instead of turning my look into hot tropics, they softened and brightened my face. I think this trio is still valued quite high, but I love the natural ingredients, which makes it well worth the price. If this is what the box is going to be like, I can definitely get behind it.

This is the second fan brush we’ve received in our BoxyCharm box, and while I wasn’t too big a “fan” of the first one (it was much too thin), this one seems like it will work much better. It not only is thicker, but has a much more natural curve, so it will help blend my makeup more naturally. While I would normally use a beauty blender or blush brush for my highlighter and bronzer, this tool will help you get those cleaner lines to define your face and give you the perfect contour. I love this brush, and I have nothing like it in my collection.

$16.00 - 0.5 fl oz

This product is a cult classic, and I already know how excited everyone is going to be to receive it in their box. While this isn’t the normal full size bottle, this is quite a large size, and really much larger than the samples I’ve received in the past that still lasted me quite a few uses. People (and myself) love this primer, because it does an amazing job of smoothing your skin and getting it ready for makeup. Also, it feels weightless, so you aren’t packing on layers to your face while trying to hide those fine lines and pores. At first, I thought we would be getting a full size bottle from the spoilers, but I am really happy with this size.

$15.00 - 0.15 fl oz

This brand has been popping up absolutely everywhere lately, and they also done a fair job of getting in those subscription boxes. I haven’t heard of this makeup brand until I first received it in a BoxyCharm from a few months ago, but I really like their branding and what products I’ve tried. I am not a huge fan of liquid lipsticks, because even though they last forever, they leave my lips super dry, which leaves a crackled lip look. I have to say this lipstick is also not very hydrating, but I love the color. I wish it were a little lighter, since spring is here, and I want to stay far away from heavy winter makeup.

$12.50 - 0.04 oz

Whenever I receive a liquid lipstick or lip liner, I always wish I had the other in the matching color (especially for lip liners), so receiving both is just perfect. This liner goes on nicely, and I am pretty impressed with how long it lasts. Also, it matches the liquid lipstick so well, and I feel much better about my lipstick staying in place. I am really enjoying this new (to me) makeup brand, and I hope to see more from them in the future. Also, this duo is worth more than the cost of the box, and the names of the colors are so inspirational. Love it!

Overall, this box has been middle of the road for me. The theme is just weird, and I don’t really know how well the products worked with it (they normally fit perfectly). Some of these products got me really excited, like the primer and the fan brush, but others just didn’t fit with the newly spring weather (the eyeshadow was too bright, and the lipstick / eyeliner duo was too dark). Otherwise, we did get a well-rounded box of products, and I will use everything eventually, some more than others. Plus, the value of the box is great. This month’s value is $102.48. I am always surprised by that, and it makes these simple fails seem much more bearable. I hope next month nails it on the head.
