Popsugar Must Have July 2017 Review

Yeah! My Popsugar Must Have box has arrived for the month of July, and now that we are in the middle of summer, I am really excited to see what goodies they have for use this time around. I was a fan of the last July box, so I hope this one continues. Popsugar Must Have is a monthly subscription box that delivers full size products in fashion, beauty, home, fitness, books, and food. Each box costs $39.95 and they always value over $100, so it is always worth the cost. Also, the curated items are always high end, and I have loved incorporating them into my life. Now let’s dig in.

Popsugar Must Have doesn’t exactly have a theme, but instead they curate the items around inspirational words. This month’s inspirations are Fireflies, Bonfire, Camp, Sand, and Fireworks. To me, these inspirations form the perfect summer. Whether it be a day at the beach or a warm night outside by the fire, summer means spending time outside, and it sounds like these items are going to help us get the most out of these much loved days. I am a little limited on beach gear, so I would love a towel, beach bag, or possibly some sunscreen. What I love more than summer days are summer nights, so I would like some items to help me enjoy those. A outdoor blanket or a smores kit would be ideal. Let’s see!

Ocean Tribe by Turkish-T Kilim Towel in Ecru and Blue

$49.00

OMG! This is the perfect item for summer. It is so beautiful and just my style, so I will love showing this off, but it is so versatile as well. I can take this to the beach to lie on so I don’t have to deal with a sandy towel. This would also be ideal for the grass. I am always spending time outdoors whether it be an outdoor movie viewing or a day at the park with my dog and a book. Either way, I will be using this quite a lot. Also, this is so well made. I love the tassels on the end, and they didn’t fall apart after the first wash. Also, this is pretty thin, so while it won’t give you too much cushion, it is enough to keep you away from the ground, but it will still fit nicely in your backpack or picnic basket. This may be my favorite item I’ve received in this box ever!

Ban.Do Free Refills Sip Sip Tumbler with Straw

$14.00

Alright, this is pretty darn cute, and so practical. I have soooooo many coffee mugs, but when it comes to cool drinks, I usually end up using my water bottles. That’s not always ideal when it comes to iced coffee, soda, or a fruity alcoholic drink. This plastic cup is pretty durable while still quite light, so it would be perfect for a road trip or hanging by the pool. Also, I love the quote and retro look. They both remind me of summer so much. I’ve heard of this brand, Ban.Do, for such a long time. My friends are all obsessed, but I never had a chance to try out one of their products. Now that I’ve had, I am hooked. I will be drinking out of this all summer long!

Supergoop! Super Power Sunscreen Mousse SPF 50

$19.00 - 3.4 fl oz

We all know of this uber popular sunscreen company and all their amazing products, but I don’t think we’ve heard of this clever new product. Instead of your normal cream or spray, this mousse is light and airy and allows you to get the coverage you like with the lotion with the easiness of the spray. This foam easily covers your limps and body without multiple squeezes, and it doesn’t leave those white piles on your skin when you add too much. I am also impressed with how quickly it dries. This is a really unique idea from Supergoop, and I have a feeling we will be seeing it much more often. Plus, this item is perfect for summer, because we all need to protect ourselves from the sun, and these fun products will be the perfect reminder.

Tarte Cosmetics Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara

$23.00 - 0.24 fl oz

So this is a complete win, yet a complete loss for me, and I really don’t know how to feel. Let me start from the beginning. I love mascara, and it is one of my all-time favorite items to receive in subscription boxes, but I just don’t really care for waterproof mascara. I will say, it does last longer, but I’m just so accustomed to the non-waterproof variety that it feels weird, is so difficult to remove, and it clumps instead of hardens. The worst/best part, I love Tarte mascara and I’ve been meaning to try out this non-waterproof formula. I think I am going to make the most of this and wear it when I will need to resort to the waterproof formula for days at the pool, waterpark, or a date to a tearjerker movie. I think I’ve convinced myself, and I am really happy to add this to my collection.

Sisters of Los Angeles California Fireplace Matches

$10.00

This is the second item we've received from this brand, and I have now become a bigger fan. These giant matches are ideal for lighting a fireplace or a bonfire, so they are great for both summer and winter nights. While I don't know how often I will be using these, I am in love with the packaging. I am a Cali girl, and this box screams summer in this carefree state. Plus, you never know when they might come in handy. I really like this addition to this summer box, and while I don't know how often I will be using these, I am excited to put them on display.

Snyder's of Handover Wholey Cheese! Smoked Gouda

$3.69 - 5 oz

Finally, a non-chocolate food item in a Popsugar box. I was hoping for a luxe smores kit, but this is somehow better. This cheese flavored crisps are so delicious, and I couldn't stop eating them once I started. They are light, so they won't weigh you down but are still pretty filling. My bag came to me a little crunched, but the crumbs were just as good as the whole pieces. This bag would be great to bring to the beach or to pack for a roadtrip. Plus, they reseal, so you don't have to eat them all in one setting.

Last July's box was one of my favorite boxes ever, and this one is almost as good. I am obsessed with the turkish towel. It will go with me everywhere. The cup and sunscreen are great summer staples as well. While I am not a fan of waterproof mascaras, this one is too good to give up, and those matches will come in handy eventually. Even the food item was a great addition to this box. This month's box has a value of $118.69. That is pretty darn good for a box that cost $39.95. But especially if it only cost $29.95, like it does for me with coupon codes. This was such a great box so I can't wait to see what next month has in store for me.
